Who are we & our Retail Store......
From farmers markets to a retail store. Bunbartha Beef and fine produce is family owned and operated business located in Shepparton Victoria. Our family own farms at Bunbartha 10 minutes north of Shepparton. Some of these farms have been in the family since 1870. This is where we run and finish off our beef cattle. Our cattle are entirely grass fed and supplemented with hay and silage that we grow on farm.
The retail side of our business started out with Kelly doing local farmers markets 7 years ago with our beef, and her homemade jams and preserves and baked goods. From there demand increased, we had stores wanting to stock our products and our customer base started to grow. We then opened a farm store in 2013 on farm, in our old dairy. This was opened in order to cater for customers outside of the farmers market times. From here we have evolved and now have a permanent 7 day a week retail store in shepparton ( Located at 91 Benalla road Shepparton) . We now run a wholefoods style store, with the core buisness focusing around our own grass fed beef. As well as stocking lots of local produce and products from like minded local farmers and producers. As well as gourmet grocery lines, wholefoods, organic products and a large range of non toxic range of personal products. We stock many of those hard to find items, that normally would not be found outside of a melbourne wholefoods style store.
About our farms and grass fed beef
Bunbartha Beef is a family owned and operated farm, we are located in the Goulburn Valley region just North of Shepparton in North Eastern Victoria. We take a great deal of pride, and place a great amount of emphasis on the manner in which our cattle are treated, we do what we can to ensure they are kept in a low stress environment. In addition to this our cattle are entirely grass fed, at no stage are they fed grain. Using these methods of sound farming practices, keeping cattle in a low stress environment and providing them with quality improved pastures we have been able to consistently produce quality grass fed beef for our customers.
We run a varied mixed herd of cattle, ranging from black angus to herefords, and at any one time can carry up to 300 head of cattle. Because of the number of cattle we carry, we have a large number of cattle to select from at any one time. We select our cattle based on temperament, age, shape, breed and fat cover. Our cattle are hand selected at between 18 months and 2 years of age, and then delivered to the abattoir by us with cattle that they are familiar with. From the abattoir they head to our local butcher. Here the carcase hangs, and then our butcher breaks down our beef.

We only deliver our beef to Melbourne Metro and Surrounds and locally in the Goulburn Valley area. However we can ship our jams, hampers, gift packs and preserves Australia wide.
